On 11 February 2026, an online meeting was organised with the participation of project partners from the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre, the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Migration Research Centre of the University of Warsaw, the Institute for Geoinformation Technology in Heidelberg, and the German Aerospace Centre. The discussion focused on presenting the Sketch Map Tool and exploring its potential use during the upcoming field trip to Machakos, Kenya. Partners emphasized the importance of monitoring environmental changes, identifying migration triggers, and understanding factors that support community resilience. It was agreed that flexibility in field mapping is essential, and HeiGIT, who is the tool administrator, has offered technical support in terms of preparation, remote assistance and analysis of results.
